M.A.R.C. Programs and Services
Representatives from the MARC program are available to provide the following services for men and men's groups at FSU: Rape Prevention EducationEducational programs are designed to create an interactive learning environment in which the facts and myths of rape are presented. As well, men are taught how to prevent rape on three levels: personally, relationally, and on the societal level. Programs can be offered as a one-time review or as a series of in-depth workshops. Rape Response TrainingWhat happens if someone you know is raped? How do you respond? How can you help? Do you know the signs and symptoms of sexual violence? These questions are addressed and answered in this informal group presentation designed to provide men with basic skills to better help those people in their lives directly affected by sexual violence Individual Crisis InterventionIn association with the Florida State University Victim Advocate Program, individual crisis intervention is available to men who are the primary or secondary victims of sexual assault. This service is free to FSU students. Referrals can also be made, through the Victim Advocate Program, within or outside the FSU community for trauma or individual therapy, if requested. Group Crisis InterventionSexual violence can dramatically affect groups or associations when members are either victims or victimizers. In association with the Florida State University Victim Advocate Program, group crisis intervention for men's groups, such as fraternities, teams or clubs, is available. The group process focuses on addressing emotions and actions which occur as a result of sexual violence. The group intervention process utilizes positive and productive communication strategies designed to build cohesiveness and resilience. To schedule a program or presentation, please contact the MARC
