Member E-NewsletterJanuary 19, 2006 Welcome Back! There are a number of presentations and meetings that are coming together to kick off this Spring semester. MARC members and I will be presenting to fraternities, sororities and interested students. Soon, we will be spending our money from sweepings on more pamphlets and possibly MARC magnets. We are still seeking involvement in SGA (details on this project will be available soon) and I still want to hear the advice/criticism anyone has to offer on the direction of MARC. Interested in Volunteering?MARC has given many great presentations. Our volunteers have spoken in academic classes, fraternity houses, residence halls, FYE classes, as well as many other places. Remember, it is never too late to sign on as a volunteer! If you would be like to be a part of the excitement, please email the VAP. You can use our contact information on the left sidebar. Don't Forget About Wednesdays! If you have signed a MARC commitment card and have a MARC pin, don’t forget to wear it on Wednesday of every week. This is the chance to show your support for our program and get the word out about what MARC stands for. For all of you who don’t have a pin or might have lost it, please email us and let somebody know! We will gladly give you another so you can be recognized as a MARC member. Link Of The MonthDeclared by American Photo to be one of the twenty five most influential photographers, Lauren Greenfield's work takes an honest, and often times, disturbing look at female adolescents and the pressure women experience to look a certain way (check out Girl Culture if interested). Some of the photos are very troubling depictions of women being objectified (some of them take place in Daytona and Panama City— not surprisingly).
